Sustained impact post-course

for child, caregivers, & families

Participants take part in pre-course, end-of-course, and follow-up post-course Health and Health Behavioral Survey evaluation

The impact on individual, family, and community persists at least 6 months post-course. This is expected to extend further as we increase the number our long-term services (e.g. advanced workshops, family workshops, volunteering, youth internships)

20%

High risk child and caregivers re-engage post-course

Children and caregiver graduates can continue their practice in SEED Advance Workshops, and to come with their families to practice shared attitudes & behaviors in our Family Workshops.

70% of participants find these workshops to help improve their personal, family, and community health.

80%

SEED Course graduates pay forward by increasing their service to the community

From 2025 onwards, we plan to scale-up our volunteer and internship programs for SEED graduates to scale-out our impact on more children, family, and community's health. The internship will provide disadvantaged youth to gain priceless mentorships, and work experience in a trans-sectoral professional environment.

Prior to official launching these programs, we have already mentored 30 youth interns (including HKU students from medicine, pharmacy, master in public health and non-profit management; and secondary school students).

Multi-lingual SEED Education

Our training and educational materials have been provided in: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Urdu, Nepali, Hindi, Tagalog,  Bahasa-Indonesia, Bengali, and more.

1/5th

The cost of 1-hour counseling

Despite our strong expertise, processes, and lasting impact, the cost of providing 1-hour of SEED Course/Workshop is less than a fifth of the cost of 1-hour counseling.

To provide the full 12-hour course for children, the cost is HK$ 3400. This is the cost of two 1-hour counseling sessions. Can 2 hours of counseling improve a child's health and health behaviors sustained over 6 months?

What is the cost saved for each child across their life course, their family, and Hong Kong, if we can prevent and prepare them with a stronger foundation of health at any early age? What if we can further reinforce that across their entire childhood with long-term services?

Strong Sustained Impact on Children Health & Systems

Our impact =

(no. of children & caregivers in courses x health impact on the Mind, Body, and Relations x duration of effect)

+ no. of children + caregivers in workshops x  benefit

+ levels of influence around children empowered by training

x partnering organizations or community groups

x levels of alignment with policies

By 2030, our projected accumulative impact =

(10000 children or caregivers in SEED course x 80% have improved health and health behavioral scores x 2 years)

+ (5000 children or caregivers in workshops x 70% supported for personal/family/ community health)

8 levels of training, i.e. child, youth, caregivers, service providers, schools, non-profits, community, public

x 100 partners

x 3+ policies aligned, including HK SAR Government's Education Bureau, health, and social welfare

Promotes Health Equity & Inclusivity

We actively address the root causes of health and inequity:

SEED learners gain capacity, attitudes, and behaviors that individually and collectively address the "bio-psychosocial determinants of health. E.g. children, caregivers, and families practice helpful ways to protect and support of children well-being and safety, we co-develop solutions to reduce inequity, discrimination, misinformation, and indifference towards a child or anyone being hurt by disorder, bullying, or violence.

We develop helpful mindsets about our own and each other's uniqueness. We foster a classroom and community culture that nurtures inclusivity and contribution to healthy shared norms.

Just like seeds, each child and caregiver is unique, priceless, and limitless. We each have our own needs, pace, and journeys for growth - comparison is not reasonable. Diverse seeds across ages, abilities, ethnicities, generations and other backgrounds who share our values are all welcomed to grow with us in our community garden.

Together, we each contribute to the diversity and hence resilience of our supportive Be Priceless community.

Scale Deep Impact:

Enhance accessibility: Tailor our training and education materials for children with SEN including visual impairment, their families, schools, and communities. (In 2025, Operation Santa Claus support part of this work)

Address emerging needs: Continue to develop new training and educational tools to address the unmet and changing needs of children, caregivers, and families. E.g. developing a Youth SEED Course, and Family Workshops to transitioning through developmental stages like adolescence.

Scale Out Impact: 70% graduates serve others in community

We will expand the support and opportunities for SEED learners to pay forward their growth through actions to fosters healthy community, including volunteer, youth internship, and service awards.
